Historians Against Slavery is fortunate to have a number of dedicated graduate student volunteers. Our new page on the World Anti-Slavery Convention of 1840, for example, was written by a doctoral student in the history department at Rice University.

Two other Rice University graduate students, Whitney Stewart and Ben Wright, will also be helping out at our inaugural HAS conference, which begins tomorrow in Cincinnati, Ohio. Both Whitney and Ben (who are pictured below at our information table at the 2013 annual meeting of the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic) will be “live-tweeting” the conference proceedings and reporting back to this blog about what they see.

They will be joined by another dedicated grad student volunteer, Nathan Jérémie-Brink, who is a doctoral student at Loyola University in Chicago.

Be sure to follow @whitney_nell, @benjamingwright, and @NJeremieBrink on Twitter for live updates from the conference. You can also follow the conference hashtag #HASConference or check out our conference page on Facebook.
